The A. Philip Randolph Institute South Carolina State Conference is committed to advancing the legacy of Asa Philip Randolph by organizing workers, strengthening civil rights, and championing economic justice. Through coalition building, workforce empowerment, and civic engagement, we work to ensure that the benefits of American innovation, manufacturing, service industries, and emerging technologies are accessible to all people. Guided by Randolph’s vision, we stand at the intersection of labor and civil rights to build a more equitable and prosperous future.
Founded in 1965 by labor leader A. Philip Randolph and civil rights strategist Bayard Rustin, the A. Philip Randolph Institute united the power of organized labor with moral force of the civil rights movement. Their vision linked worker dignity, economic justice, and civic participation to advance opportunity and equality for working people across America.
